Harry Potter Celebrations

This week in the library we have been celebrating Harry Potter Day (Thursday 17th October) with a week of Potter themed activities every lunch break.

On Monday, members of the PE staff dropped in to help us create our own wizarding sport – the stand-out was defiantly Potion Dodgeball! Tuesday was supported by Maths as we solved the Potion Puzzle that Hermione solves to get access to the philosopher’s stone and Wednesday was run with the help of Art, designing dragons and dragon eggs. On Thursday we are heading to science for a ‘magic wand’ demonstration and our regular Harry Potter club rounds up the week of events with English. As if that wasn’t enough, with the support of the PD team, over 20 students are staying behind afterschool on Wednesday to watch Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. It has been a week of fun, magic and inter-department support and the students have had a fantastic time! Well done to Reading Engagement Lead, Cassie Wainwright, for making the library a real success.
