UCAS Exhibition - a student's perspective
Report provided by Year 13 student, Michael C:
"We were invited to Nottingham to a UCAS exhibition to see the numerous post-18 options offered by universities and companies. After a 1-hour trip up the M1, we arrived at the venue and we were asked to have a QR code with us at all times – even when we were speaking to the people at the booths (but they only used it to fill up your inbox with promotions to their university or company). It was interesting to see how they managed to convert the ice ring into one massive set (it was being hosted at the Motorpoint area). We had around a 90-minute time slot at the venue due to it being within school hours, but my goodness was it a great experience; I spoke to many people and it was very interesting to draw parallels and differences of what different places were offering, as well as different opportunities within the career prospects you are exploring by studying that subject. Although, if that wasn’t an incentive for you to study or work there, they always gave a gift bag with a prospectus a pen and a warm smile – if you get the chance I’d advise you check it out yourself!
